I've been a bad blogger...have not posted a word since July, so it would appear I lost half of the summer as well. Today is Halloween...BOO...and I'll turn around and Thanksgiving will be here and our sweet Ali will be a year old! Can Christmas be far behind? A lot has been going on in the past couple of months, but it would take hours for me to catch up on it all ...so I'll just say Happy Fall, and go out and enjoy the beautiful weather we are finally having!

It's HOT...HOT...and more hot every where you look! I usually feel like Floridians are the ones who suffer most, but a quick look at the National weather shows me we are not alone. Hopefully, we will all survive this oppressive heat without spontaneous combustion!!! Steph and Steve are moving onward and upward on their new home quest. They found, and made an offer on, a house in Lake Mack! The offer has been accepted, and now they're waiting to close and get started on cleaning and moving into a new home. I'm very happy they picked a place so close to us. It's great having an old friend right around the corner. I look forward to them getting into the new house, and making new memories!

Well...this has been an interesting weekend so far. Steph & Steve sold their house on Cape Cod, and moved their whole lives to Florida, during the heat of the summer! They arrived on Thursday night in a U-Haul truck with a car carrier and 2 cats! Needless to say, it's been a bit chaotic since then. They rented a little mobile home on the next street over, so only spent one night sleeping here. Good thing, since the new air mattress from Sears (China, of course) went flat over night! We started unloading the truck at 1:00 PM Friday, and gave up when it got too hot, and a thunderstorm was looming overhead. They got an early start this AM, and we're sitting here nursing aches and pains that have us moanin' and groanin' every time we move! When did we get so darn old that we can't help a friend move without feeling all these pains??? I'm thrilled that they are finally here, after 2 years of planning and trying to sell their house. Old friends are hard to come by, and now we are moving on to a totally different phase...we'll see how things go!

As every week goes by, I am amazed at how fast this granddaughter of ours is growing! I had 2 kids...I don't remember feeling that they were growing too fast, except maybe when they started Kindergarden. Ali is 71/2 months old, and it really feels like she just came into our lives a day ago! I guess that's a thing that goes along with growing older...I just want to grab the time and slow it down...I know I can't do that, but I don't want to turn around and see her going off to Kindergarden tomorrow!! Silly Grandma.....

A rainy day here in Florida...must be the 4th of July. We seem to have rain every year on this day, and it's always a question if the fireworks will go on, or not. I think not this year. We'll watch a display on Tv, and listen to the kids in the park popping off firecrackers...they've already started, and it's only 7 PM. A time to reflect on the supreme sacrifice made by our men and women in uniform...we may not agree with the war, or the reasons it's being fought...but we must never forget that these soldiers believe in what they are fighting for and we must always support them...and pray for their safe return home. Far too many and given their lives in the name of freedom. We cannot take that freedom for granted. Happy Independence Day to you, wherever you are.
